Want to get easy wedding glam that will have you looking without sacrificing feeling your best? If you’re new to the blog, welcome to your haven for all things wedding planning for the bride who wants to make her day her own.
That’s why we’re introducing a new series shining the spotlight on vendors who fully embody giving brides, couples, and their families the best experience possible. Today we’ll be talking with a good wedding vendor friend who actually was the one who provided my wedding day look. If that’s not a great recommendation, I don’t know what is. Without further ado, let’s talk all things wedding day beauty.
This feels like a very full circle moment and I’m so honored to have you. Can you start off by introducing yourself? Hi brides-to-be! My name is Mayra and I’m the owner and lead artist of Glowing Beauty LA.
Mayra actually has been a huge part of what I do as a bride and business owner. We’ve helped each other grow our portfolios, promote our businesses, and all together have been blessed to see each other grow as Latinas in the wedding industry. What do you think sets you apart in the industry? What sets Glowingbeautyla apart is that our focus is to build relationships with our Brides and not just see them as another transaction. We pride ourselves in building trust with our clients which has helped us stay in business over 10 years. We specialize in soft glam that gives our Brides their dream wedding day look without feeling like they have a mask on or are weighed down by the makeup itself.
I think something that has always impressed me to is your strong commitment to making sure skin is healthy before makeup goes on it. From the get-go, your attention to detail has been so helpful in making sure brides (myself included) feel like their overall cosmetic health is considered. That having been said, I’m sure there’s so much brides don’t know or don’t think about when looking for a makeup artist.
What’s something about your field that brides often don’t think about? I wish my Brides knew booking in advance is so important, especially if your wedding is taking place on a Saturday as these are the first dates that get reserved. Book your trial and wedding date 6-9 months in advance at the latest.
Totally. I’m sure you’ve seen a lot of brides who forget about those crucial details. What are some unique situations you’ve been in and how have you applied that going forward? A unique situation I’ve come across is someone wanting services and me having to turn them away as there would be no time to complete the services. I have since then implemented timelines with enough cushion room to aliviate any stress for those last minute mothers of the Bride who change their mind and want to get their makeup and hair done to look picture perfect .

When should brides be booking your [type of] services? As soon as they feel confident in my style, which is a soft glam that really enables brides to glow. Dates book up fast and we usually only service one wedding per day so don’t miss out and reach out to your artist of choice asap!

What’s your biggest tip for brides? Beauty starts from within. My job is to elevate your confidence with the touch of my brush but the true beauty is inside of you, shining through to the outside.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share with us! You can find Mayra glamming up brides regularly at www.instagram.com/glowingbeautyla or at https://www.glowingbeautyla.com. For all of you brides, I’m looking forward to sharing more info from vendors to help you plan the ultimate bash that works for your budget, personalities, and needs. Until then, ciao!
