Industry Hills Cultural Wedding

Celebrating your love & culture

If you’ve been around the blog or any of my socials for any length of time, then you’ll know what I love more than anything is a wedding filled with details that celebrate a couple’s love story and/or culture. To quote Abuela Claudia a la Lin Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights, these kinds of things are the “little details that show the world we are not invisible”. When it comes to intimate weddings, the options are endless for how to customize and craft a day that truly celebrates you.

Enter David and Crystal. When I first spoke with Crystal about her wedding, I was delighted to see that she came into the conversation with one sentence “the whole wedding is basically a love letter to our 10 year relationship and culture and family”. Let me tell you that their day did NOT disappoint. I’m a huge advocate of candid coverage and one of the things I loved about their wedding was how easy it was to get footage without needing much more than a prompt (and even that was often unnecessary). The wedding parties were exuberant and full of life at every turn, making it easy to fit in comfortably and get pictures of them as they got ready at the Pacific Palms Resort in Industry Hills or dancing the night away at the Industry Hills Expo Center.

When looking for inspiration for how to include cultural details in a day, look no further than this wedding. Crystal and her family made the trek to local Los Angeles mercaditos and Mexico itself to find all of the perfect candies, loteria cards, and pan dulces that made their day as much a tribute to Mexican culture as to their love.
